Character Connection is a weekly meme hosted by Jen at The Introverted Reader every Thursday. It’s where we get to discuss our favorite book characters and what we love about them!
One of the first things you learn is that Lily sacrificed her life to save Harry. Doing this also brought down Moldy Voldy temporarily. I love the fact that she was a Muggleborn. Take that, Death Eaters! I have always imagined that she and Hermoine would have had a pretty strong bond; Hermoine could have used her as a major role model since they’re both Muggleborns.
You really start to understand more about James after Sirius comes into the story. It is so easy to picture him and Sirius causing all sorts of problems during their days at Hogwarts. He might have been an enormous troublemaker, but he was first and foremost a loyal friend.
In fact, I think the first thing that comes to mind when you think of James and Lily is loyalty. To their family…friends…and to Dumbledore and the Order. Even though they are never actually live characters in the story (with a couple of notable exceptions), I still consider them two of the main characters of the series, as well as the most influential. If they hadn’t been the people they were and hadn’t sacrificed their lives, Harry wouldn’t have been Harry, and the Wizarding World would have been pretty screwed.
