2012 Blogging Goals

Although the main reason I started my blog to begin with – other than simple enjoyment – was  to have a place to share my thoughts on books, I definitely think that it is necessary to have blogging goals. Whether it is about posting more regularly or making a point of visiting new-to-you blogs, you can’t expect your own blog to expand if you don’t make an effort!

So, without making it too hard on myself, I’ve got a list of things I hope to work on in 2012:

  • To visit and comment on all the blogs that leave me comments (other than memes). I try to do this when I have time already, but I want to make it a habit. If someone leaves a “great books, here is the link to mine!” IMM comment, that doesn’t count (because those are annoying).
  • Have over 350 reviews. This one should be easily doable by the end of the year because I’m already +200.
  • Increase daily visitor count. My stats still aren’t back up to what they were on Blogger – which I can’t figure out. I’m working on navigating through all that SEO business that WordPress is definitely superior in.
  • Try to be more consistent with Jen’s Character Connection meme. A lot of those posts are the big thing that drives search engine traffic to my blog, and they’re fun to write!

So what about you guys? Have you made any blogging resolutions of your own – or do you have any goals you are working towards? I’d love to hear about them!

Hi, I am a new blogger, a month old – http://vidya-booksaremagic.blogspot.com. And in 2012, I would like to reach 100 reviews and more followers. I also want to reach out to other bloggers and get to know each other.

I think you can definitely accomplish all of these goals Allison! I will hop on G-Chat if need be and implore you to get those reviews written. I mean, we both did really awesome that one day earlier this week when we were just kind of writing reviews for most of the day. Also YAY YAY YAY for more character connection.

Great list of resolutions. I think you can definitely reach them! =D Good luck and happy 2012!

I still need to write my 2012 resolutions post. I’ve been meaning to, but I’ve been trying to catch up on blogs the last couple of days. I follow over 260 blogs…Yikes!

So is your reading goal 100? That’s mine. I posted that on goodreads. Those are some really good goals. It’s funny that us bloggers set our goals around blogging and reading. LoL

I have similar goals too – and I am sure that you will easily reach 350 reviews by the end of 2012! 🙂

I don’t know if you have an App reader (e.g. iPad, etc), but the Flipboard app is amazing and it connects to your Google Reader – so I can easily email myself certain blogs to check back on and remember to comment (what I am doing now!)

As far as daily visitors, that has always been a “you visit me, I visit you” type of dynamics – and it also helps if both consistently post good and interesting content. 🙂

    Good luck to you!

I need to be better at replying to comments too!! And really, just commenting more in general!
