Although the main reason I started my blog to begin with – other than simple enjoyment – was to have a place to share my thoughts on books, I definitely think that it is necessary to have blogging goals. Whether it is about posting more regularly or making a point of visiting new-to-you blogs, you can’t expect your own blog to expand if you don’t make an effort!
So, without making it too hard on myself, I’ve got a list of things I hope to work on in 2012:
- To visit and comment on all the blogs that leave me comments (other than memes). I try to do this when I have time already, but I want to make it a habit. If someone leaves a “great books, here is the link to mine!” IMM comment, that doesn’t count (because those are annoying).
- Have over 350 reviews. This one should be easily doable by the end of the year because I’m already +200.
- Increase daily visitor count. My stats still aren’t back up to what they were on Blogger – which I can’t figure out. I’m working on navigating through all that SEO business that WordPress is definitely superior in.
- Try to be more consistent with Jen’s Character Connection meme. A lot of those posts are the big thing that drives search engine traffic to my blog, and they’re fun to write!
