In 2013, I Will Accomplish:

Do you guys make New Year’s Resolutions? I don’t really think of the goals I set for myself as “resolutions” exactly, because most of them are things I’ve already started or just involve reading goals I set for myself yearly that don’t have anything to do with changing things in the new year – it just happens to be the most convenient time to restart the reading cycle. ANYWAYS, no matter how you look at it, there are some things I’m hoping to accomplish in 2013…how about you?

Reading Goals

Read More Non-Fiction. I became pretty obsessed with memoirs this past year, and also historical non-fiction to a lesser extent. I would love to read at least 30 non-fiction books this year, which will be helped some by the classes I’m taking but I also have a few specific books in mind:

Read More Bricks. Sometimes, even when there is one I really want to read, I avoid the longer books because I feel pressure to get through review books. Enough of that! There are a few specific books I want to give a shot this year:

Life Goals

Graduate. I want to finish my degree in December and then move on to grad school. IT IS TIME.

No More Soda. I was decent about this in 2012, with the exception of Sierra Mist. I might still go for Diet Sierra Mist occasionally, but for the most part I’d really like to cut it all out.  (This would have been a lot more daunting a couple of years ago when I drank Dr. Pepper by the gallon…)

Walk More. I can be pretty lazy, especially when I’m in the middle of a semester and want to spend every second of spare time reading. The biggest part of this resolution is my goal to walk home from campus when the weather permits. (It is only about a 45 minute walk and I can audiobook it, so this is extremely doable.)

Reruns No More. Instead of watching old episodes of my favorite TV shows, I want to give a couple of different ones a go.

Blogging Goals

Hit 400 Book Reviews. I’m at just over 300 books reviewed on the blog right now, so I’m hoping to get at least 100 reviews done in 2013. Doable? Definitely.

Return Comments. I meant to do this in 2012, but wasn’t always too great about it. I want to visit the blogs of people that comment on my reviews and return the favor!

More Vlogging. Y’all, I am so in love with the bookish community on YouTube, I really want to make an effort to record videos for things other than just book hauls.
