Julianne Donaldson on Traveling to England

You guys, on the blog today is Julianne Donaldson, author of the fantastic historical romance novel Edenbrooke. She is talking about her travels to England and how they helped inspire her writing.

I had been working on Edenbrooke for a year when I started dreaming of going to England myself. It seemed absolutely impossible–I had three small kids and a husband in law school–but I felt like it was essential for writing a good story to actually see what I was writing about. Luckily, my husband supported my dream, and I had a friend who was happy to come along. I still can’t believe we made it happen. But I was right–it really did make all the difference in the world.

My Favorite Author Blogs

You guys, I love when authors have a presence online and interact with their readers via blog posts and twitter. A few of my favorite authors have posted really amazing blog posts lately that I wanted to share with you…

First of all: Patrick Rothfuss. Even if you don’t read adult fantasy, you should follow his blog. He is absolutely hilarious – and he has a yearly charity drive for Heifer International which raises hundreds of thousands of dollars and gives away free books.

Character Q&A: Shattered Souls by Mary Lindsey

Mary Lindsey’s debut young adult novel, SHATTERED SOULS, is scheduled for release in early December – I’ve had a chance to read it and I definitely got caught up in the story! The MC, Lenzi, finds out a lot about herself in a short time and has to make some tough decisions. I really loved her character – so, on the blog today, I have her answering some questions!
